Children:
The Mission Friends and GA’s are making Valentine cards to be delivered on Thursday 11, 2010 from 1 to 3 pm at Ozark and Oakview Nursing Homes. It will begin at Oakview. We invite anyone to come deliver these cards with us. We promise you will receive the blessing.*****(The cards were delivered by 4 beautiful children who received many hugs, kisses and I Love You from many happy residents at both Nursing Homes. The true blessing is the resident’s listening to the children sing ”Jesus Loves Me”! The children were able to enjoy the Valentine party at Ozark Health & Rehab with the residents. They truly enjoyed every single moment of it. A heartfelt thank you to Tami Huett who always gives of her time & love in this ministry.
GA’s:
The GA’s and RA’s will be going Saturday Feb 27, 2010 to Montgomery for ice skating. Please contact Sherri Flowers or James Gannon if interested in going.

They continue to collect aluminum cans in which there is a place behind the Family Life Center to donate your cans. The proceeds are used to pay for events with in this group.

Upcoming event:
Informational meeting on Wednesday February 17th @ 5:30pm in FLC for “Youth Interpretive Worship Ensemble” Ages 12-19 (guys and gals). Practice will be on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 in the FLC starting February 24th. The only experience you need is a desire to love and worship the Lords!

The Youth are now sponsoring a young Korean boy (Ha-Rang YI). The Vietnamese girl (they sponsored last time) has been adopted in her 1st permanent home. Please be in prayer for both of these children.
Special Prayer Request: Pray for Tristen Presley as she moved back to Hawaii to be with her father. Southside church will miss Tristen, her sister Jillian and little brother Levi.

College & Career:
This class is taught by Josh and Sheri Evans each Sunday am during Sunday School time 9:30 am in Family Life Center. They also meet each Wednesday night at 7pm. Class room is last room on right side of Life Center as you enter right double doors of Family Life Center. You will receive a blessing as Josh & Sheri both have a very passionate love for the Lord and young people.
Sisters in Christ:
Comedian Chonda Pierce “Did I Say That Out Loud? tour will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama at 7:30 pm onThursday March 25, 2010. We will leave the church at 4:30 (all going needs to be in the parking lot at Southside between 4:15 and 4:30). We will be going on the Church Van to Candi Taylor’s house in which supper will be served, then we will leave her house between 6pm-6:15pm to arrive at Calvary early so we can get good seats. Tickets will be $15 (for group of 10 or more). Tickets must be paid for when you sign up, please pay either Cathy Deaton. Pam Silavent or Candi Taylor. Deadline for signup is February 24th due to high demand for tickets. We pray all will come for a great night of Christian comedy and fellowship with our Sisters in Christ.
Prayer Walks:
Mixon School:
Our walk will be Feb 4, 2010 @ 5pm. We encourage anyone who is interested, please come join us so we can HELP this school to start the NEW YEAR of 201o being lifted to our LORD with us the Prayer Walk Team leading the way.
DA Smith:
Our walk will be Feb 11, 2010 @ 5pm. We pray that parents, grandparents, teachers, administration, church members from everychurch within Ozark will come to lift this school up to our LORD. This is an age where children need positive guidance with much love and encouragement shown to them. We pray that each of you will want to come join us to help the YEAR of 2010 be a positive year for all within this school.
Carroll High School:
Our Prayerwalks for the NEW YEAR of 2010 will begin onFeb18, 2010 @ 5pm. We pray that God puts in on your HEART to come join us to lift these young ladies & gentlemen up to our LORD. These are very important years as they are being prepared to go out in the world whether in college, army forces, jobs or as a spouse and/ or parent . We need to lift them up for God’s guidance in whatever choice they make in life to know and understand HE is always there with them.
Vivian B Adams School:
Our Prayerwalks for the NEW YEAR of 2010 will begin on Feb. 25, 2010 @ 5pm. We encourage ALL to attend as for GOD loves ALL children. You will be the one truly receiving a blessing when you feel the LOVE within this school.
The Prayer Walk Team from Southside will be having “Valentine’s for VBA” during the entire month of Feb. This is a toy drive to assist these students as learning tools. Please see the list and anyone would like to donate please deliver the items to Vivian B Adams or Southside Baptist Church.
An Invitation to finally clean out the children’s toys, the junk room or garage. We just request the donated items to be useable and workable. We will be donating the Items to our Special Needs Children at Vivian B Adams. Of course new items are greatly appreciated. It is our “Valentine’s for VBA” This will be for the entire month of February. Donation boxes in Foyer.

Mission Trips:
In April of 2010 there will be a Medical Mission team going to Haiti. Please be in prayer for this. The list of medicines (over the counter meds) will be in foyer on January 3, 2009 with the boxes to donate in hallway at offices of church.
We are trying to make a difference here for the adults and children of Haiti. Please help us here at Southside and make a difference!
Upcoming Speakers and/ or Revivals:
In August 2010 Southside will be hosting Area wide Keswick Revival that will last for 3 days. More details will be announced at later date.
